This kit consists of :
- 3 to 6 type A springs:
- Outer diameter: 19 mm
- Length: 355 mm (including loops)
- Working length: 700 to 800 mm
- 2 spring hooks
This kit of "multi-springs + 2 hooks" can also be mounted on old up-and-over garage doors equipped with only one "big" spring on each side (diameter 〜3 at 5 cm). This gives you more security in case of breakage and makes replacement easier. Indeed, the small springs can be replaced one by one and in case one of them breaks, the door will not fall down suddenly.
Our springs have a service life of 20,000 operating cycles.
This kit is compatible with all brands of up-and-over garage doors: Spadone, Soferba, Novoferm, Soprofen, Tekla, Hormann, Tubauto, Garador, Normstahl...
Steps for disassembling & assembling the springs of your up-and-over door :
- To change the springs, secure your garage door in the open position with a clamp.
- Then, to remove the old spring, if a single large spring is still in place, pass a large screwdriver through the top loop, use both hands to slightly extend the spring and release it from its hook.
- Then simply hook the kit hook and your new springs one by one. This requires no special tools and can be done safely. In the future, you will no longer be at risk of your door falling down because of a broken spring. If one of the springs should fail, the others will compensate for the breakage and you will then only have to replace a small spring.
